Blast From the Past
February 11, 2007I was packing up some of my things this morning. We will be moving to the other house probably this month or the next. I rummaged thru my old stuff and saw the old cards, letters and pix. I looked the pix, read some of the letters and cards again. And I thought, this is worth blogging. So here are some the pix and the memories they brought back to me.
Theena: One of the first friends I met online. Hmm. Not just any friend, in fact. Let's just say, though we haven't met in person, she's became a special part of me.
I was new to the net at the time, I was chatting in MIRC. I forgot the nick she was using at the time, but I remember she first told me she was from Puerto Rico. Hehehe. Eventually we became friends and she told me really who she is and where she's from. We exchanged e-mails, then went beyond the the electronic means and exchanged snail-mails and phone calls.
But then everything stopped. It was after my father died, .. Ok this is bringing up some sad, sad memories I'd rather forget so I'll skip it.. heheh
Mitch and Keith
These two are from Mati-Davao. I met them on the boat on the way to the International Leader's Conference in Palawan. We easily became friends from then and saw each other every ILC, which is every year. Until I stopped attending though. The picture below is taken from Corrigidor which was the venue of the ILC the following year.
SFC Cebu
I missed Cebu Chapter. I missed the dance group, I missed the band.I missed my friends there….
The picture below is still on the boat on the way to (or from?) Palawan. The one playing the guitar is Ron. One of the best musicians I personally knew. Though, music is just his past time, he could have been great.
My First Job:
No these are not the flight crew of an International Airline. Just the guys and gals from my first Job during the Alcatel product launching. By the pool side of Cebu Midtown hotel.
The reception area of the product presentation.
Jane and Cindy are sisters. I opened the two Birthday cards they sent me.
Jane was my classmate way back in high school and a good friend too. We haven't seen each other after high school. How I contacted her again was a bit… hmm strange(?). It started in the ILC in Corrigidor. Sunday, right after the closing mass. more than five thousand people attended the conference from all over the country. People are busy taking pictures, exchanging numbers and e-mail adds etc… I was just walking around looking for a friend of mine. I walked passed by a girl who was just sitting. Somehow, in my mind someone seemed to have whispered, go back and get to know that girl. And I did.
She's from Manila. To be precise, from Taguig. But guess what… She's a very good friend of Cindy The younger sister of Jane. Coincidence? You decide. We exchanged numbers, which she gave to Cindy and Cindy called me. I was still working in Cebu at the time and Cindy is in Taguig. A few months later I was sent to Manila for a training. There I met Jane and Cindy again after so many years.

Funny coz’ this happens to me all the time. I grew up in different places and it always pains me to look at old pics of the people who were once part of my life… I can hear Barbara singing in the background… “Memories light the corners of my mind, misty water color memories of the way we were…. ” hehehe
